HEYYY!

Long time since I've last been here, but just want to track how much life has changed since then =)

1. I'm enjoying my lessons. Not the lesson per se, but the subject matter and stuff, and i carn wait to take more interseting courses next term, and the term after next, and the term after next and after next and after next.


2. weather here is RELALY erractic. (well i'm continuing the post onli now, its already 5/11) weather's turning cold for good now, no more of those one wk 20+ degrees one wk 5 degrees stuff. now its constantly 12 or below, and its pojected to snow on tues, which is realli different. i mean all the cities i've been to it'll stay so cold for so long and snow fall onli comes in januaury or so...now we're struggling to find the correct clothes to wear, it seems like i;m always over or underdressed...mornings are the worst., you don't really want to wake up and have to hurry to class and its the coldest in the mornings geez.

3. festivals are cool. halloween was last wk. sunday we kinda celebrated it...ssa =) was in halloween planning comm, quite cool. xinyi yuzhen came to our rooms and we did our make ups and all tgt. we decorated trotter house and made it like a casino, and at a certain time, we balcked the place out and transformed the place into hell vegas. unforgettable is defeintiely the rag doll that rongsiu made: amy/marie. haha, yijie's girlfriend. damn creepy. and its damn fun seeing everyone's costume. kinda liked ghim's costume as a pap member =D after days of chionging and wks of seeing yuzhen so stressed it finally came and gone. ended with pizza at 12 at pizza place beside east quad. and tht day tht begun at temp of 10+ degrees ended with a temp of NEGATIVE 2. o

the friday b4 halloween was halloween shopping. v v high. went to the halloween shops along carrpenters and reied out all the costumes. their range is sriously unbeleievable. and everyone taking it so seriously and stuff...whooo. went to meijers and took a cab back, AND you all CANNOT imaginet he inefficiency of ann arbor's cabs. call them endlessly and they took 45 mins to come. SERIOUSLY. and its ex. it takes 9 seconds for the meter to jmp 30 cents. i counted.

halloween itself was incredible. people were wearing their costumes throughout the day...can see those in panda suits, banana suits and all, goinfor class and everythin.g the dining ahll person was dresed as a female (his a guy) and a rather prttyone at tht.

4. foodfest. okae... know its kinda wslow...but i have to blog about foodfest! ssa did the foodfest where there was like.chicekn rice..hokkien mee..laksa..curry...not chompchomp fantastic but good enough. hahaha, funniest thing was 4 freshmen guys going to stand behind the singapore flag and saluted.

5. hmm...last fri was fun! haha, went to yingyi's dorm at 9+ or so to watch my ssassy girl, first time was the prestige, but everytime we go over their hospitality ios ultra good!! yingyi and adolphus will set up 2 screesn..take out all the food..honey dews..godiva pretzels...gosh..the last time the airbed came out..and they'll start the movie, which was damn good too..
and then overnight mugging at eugene's room which realli killed me on sat. here;s a hint: sleep enough before doing any form of econs the next day.

6. haha, today was realli realli fun too. studied with rongsiu yujin xinyi eugene and laughed tillno end. rongsiu said toi lose weight we ahve to be cold cos then ur body will burn more fats to keep you warm, so we removed our coats and walked in the cold =PP and when winter comes we'll just roll around in the snow with no/minimal clothes WHEE. hahaha, den we met yijie adolphus and yingyi for dinner and it was a whole new round of laughter. gosh, i feel so much better then in the past wk =D pity weekends is coming to an end alredy =(

7. daylight saving time. 2 am on 4th nov they just brought time one hour forward to give us more awake time =D suppsoed to meet on mebeam with other umich freshies at 2 am but well, fellaslep...

..and thts my life in 7 poitns for the mth =D

I'm Happy. Happy with a capital H. For the first time since I reached AnnArbor. Chicago was GREAT. I never laughed like that since touching down. I never felt so exuberant just looking at skyscrapers. I think Chicago is prettier then Manhatten, but it could only be because when I went to Manhatten I cam e from Singapore, now I'm going to Chicago from AnnArbor which is a bloody ulu town. I never felt sooo much like a counry bumpkin in my life. First thing we did when we arrive was to take a photo in an elevator. (Not that we don't have elevators in AnnArbor yeah, we're not that ulu)


And then the realisation sets in that we've been so isolated. First Macs in 2 mths, first 7-11 in two months, first skyscrapers in so long. Omg. Then we see the shops: Guess, Victoria's Secret, Gap, LV, Burberry, Coach, Zegna, and I realise OMG, that's FASHION!! And winter wear means something more then long pants and long sleeved shirts. And public transport actually RUNS. (one bus per hour is not considered public transport) And the architecture is just great.



So Chicago was alot of laughter and camwhoring and camwhoring and camwhoring and walking.



Accomodation was one adventure though. FatJohny's last resort was this wierd place with a psycho and dirty beds and kitty litter and all =S so we made our way to holiday inn in the middle of the night at 1 am? and inquired and decided to stay there for the night. all 8 in a room cool! played cards till 4 am tht night. the next night 10 of us stayed in the room.

anyway v glad i'm from singapore which is at least a international centre compared to ann arbor. somehow, even though i;m in states i think i;m like in a more backward place then singapore

Reading chat logs from last year. I can't beleive how immensely happy and carefree I sounded before As, during As and after As. And thinking of that just can't help but bring tears (I know that sounds stupid). Don't tell me this permanently marks the end of my happy carefree years...

Thinking of those times when everyone in the class takes the same subjects, and even though we always said we were not bonded as a class, compared to having 4 different classes for 4 different subjects now, I can safely say we were close enough. Having teachers whom you were close to and you knew so well, having boys to banter with them, having friends to sit through the same lectues and tutorials and go through the same homework with you and have lunch with you all the time. I loved it when the library was small and walking in, I can defintely find someone to study with...ofe, zhenghao, hanyou, kevin, no matter whom. I'll remember the mornings in rj where we gather in the parade sq...walking thru the corridors or sitting in classrooms with the morning sun shining in...
or even pe. i miss running with ket all the time, i miss the girls always playing tgt, even if we lose most of the time...
and lunches or recesses in the canteen where we'll all either buy the stall 2 food or the yongtau foo stall food...and lessons in the ittr...
and nights in rj spent studying..where i'll walk out to the busstop along braddel in the night.

watching shaonian mv tht day, i realised tht people always put uniformed sch years as years of nostalgia, and with a start i realised tht my uniformed years are over. really over. i now have officially joined the ranks of those grown ups.


most of all, i miss feeling comfortbale with peopoe once again. it seems like i used to be able to feel comfortable with anyone, anybody. i could talk with anyone in class, i could chat with anyone on msn, and it seems like that part of me is gone. the sch is so big and so diverse with so many people and i carn seem to find tht part of me where i can talk and laugh comfortably with people again. and i'm so afraid its gone and i'll never recover it back. i feel like i carn get anyone to like me like i did last time anymore.

reading chatlogs just makes me want to cry more...
